What is Eroticon you ask? Well here is what the site has to say about it.

Eroticon is the UK’s only conference for sex bloggers and erotica writers. 2012 was the inaugral year and 2013 will be bigger and better.

If you are sex writer, blogger, editor, publisher, journalist, performer or artist Eroticon 2013 will be the networking event of the year. Meet with like minded people and leading voices of the erotic industries, make new contacts and learn new skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Eroticon 2013 will be a two day event held in London and will play host to a weekend of inspiring, sexy and creative sessions to help you write sex right.

If you’ve been a reader of this blog for over a year, you might remember that I attended the very first Eroticon last year. Not only did I attend, but I was also very honored to be asked to participate in a panel discussing “Identity, Ethics and sex blogging.” This year, I will be one of the many attendees. I’m already looking forward to it. Unlike last year, this year, Eroticon will be a two day event. So many more speakers and so many more sessions! There are quite a few sessions I’m excited to attend and some that will be difficult to choose from because they are being offered at the same time.

Sessions that have caught my eye include, a creative writing session by Remittance Girl, Pitching To Publishers by Hazel Cushion, Self Publishing by MK Elliot and Guy New York, Polyamory 101 by Lori Smith and Amanda Jones, Top Ten Tips for Writing a Sex Blog by Molly Moore and that is just to name a few. I’m also very excited about some of the new sponsors this year. I don’t know anything about these companies and their specific products (yet) but I am very much looking forward to learning about them and maybe I will be coming home with a new toy! *wink* I’m really excited to get to know Yes Organic Lubricants, They Fit Condoms and Swan Vibes! If you’re on the fence about going to Eroticon this year, take some time and check out the site. You can also read my write up of last year’s Eroticon here. If that still hasn’t gotten you convinced, what has you holding back? Do you feel like maybe you won’t fit in? Are you not an erotica author or part of the UK sex blog scene? Feeling like too much of an outsider? Well say no more! Listen up! If the one thing that is holding you back is the fear of sitting in a corner and being on your own, I’m here to say, you won’t have to. You’ll find that the people attending this event are very open and sociable. There’s no need to feel like you will be left out, but in case you still have reservations about it, I, Mina, am here to say, you can count on me. Seeing as I am not an erotica author, nor part of the UK sex blog scene, I understand how you could possibly feel left out, so join me at Eroticon. Myself and two other people (@perfectlytwistd and @plumptiouspea) have decided to make sure we stick together. Sure, we may decide to go to different sessions, but when it comes to breaks and socializing, we can lean on each other for company and support. So, if you are feeling left out or an outsider, drop me a line! Let’s get together and lean on each other during the event. We’ll get to know each other and everyone else. If you’re feeling like an outsider, join my eroticon outsider club. All are welcome! Even those on the inside *wink* I just want to make everyone who wants to attend, feel comfortable. What do I hope to get out of Eroticon 2013? I hope to make many more like minded friends and maybe a few new connections. I wouldn’t mind being able to do something from my home here in Switzerland that can bring in a little income. Perhaps Eroticon will help me tackle writing something more than just erotic shorts. I do know one thing. I want to DO something with this blog. I don’t want to just write about the sex I am having, I want to educate and expand. There is a world of people who judge out of fear of not knowing the truth of a lifestyle. I want to help people understand and open their minds. The more we understand each other, the less hate there could be in the world. Maybe Eroticon 2013 will light that spark for me. I don’t know what I want to do yet, but I know I want to DO something with this here blog.
