HNT ~ Our favorite of 2009

It was really tough for us to pick a favorite HNT of 2009, because we are proud of so many of our shots. For instance, the hoodie pic that is still what I think of as my signature photo I’ve personally taken. But, at the end, this is as much about the year as it is the picture. 2009 was an incredibly difficult year as the pressures from all the world took their toll on us and those close to us. We always wish for things to be different than they are, but we can’t change them just because we wish it to be so. However, there was one absolutely wonderful thing about this year: Mina and I married. She wore a gorgeous dress that reflected her personality in every inch. It was once we got back, though, that our favorite photo of 2009 was taken. It was a unique shoot, too, in that I only took one shot in the whole shoot, and that was the one we posted. It’s simple, but it means so much to us, and that’s why we chose it. We hope you enjoy it, too:

just thoughts

It’s been awhile since Sylvanus or myself have written here.  Perhaps it’s time for an update.

For what’s going on now, Sylvanus and I are not together for Christmas. He had to go East for his family. I stayed here for my mom since her husband’s mind keeps deteriorating. We also couldn’t afford the both of us going East.

However, the financial situation took a turn. For those of you who remember, Sylvanus has been working a miserable job, until now. He decided enough is enough and quit his job. I am so happy for him. It’s going to relieve a lot of stress in the house. The big surprise was that his asshole of a boss decided to be nice and gave him a severance package.

Sylvanus has interviewed for a job back east. It went well and we are waiting to hear back from them. The downside is, we really don’t want to leave CA, however, we don’t have a choice right now. Times are tough. Take what you can get right?

HNT~ Merry Christmas

Wishing all our friends, readers and loved ones a very Happy Holiday in whatever you celebrate! Sylvanus and I will not be together this year for Christmas. Times have been tough financially and our families need us. Mine are here and his are East. It’s lonely sitting underneath the tree all by myself, but he’ll be home in less than a week.

This particular review has been LONG overdo. I have been an awful reviewer! The 52 Weeks of Naughty Nights has been sent to us by VibeReview. Those of you who know us, know that we are pretty tired of reviewing the same ole vibrator over and over again. I mean, how many different ways are there to make a phallic shaped object vibrate? Wow us already! Create something new and different! That’s why we are happy to change gears a bit and review a product that is more about bringing couples closer.

The Package

 

52 weeks of Naughty Nights comes in a standard box. Within the box is a satin pouch to put all the contents into. We ditched the box and have opted to just keep everything in the pouch

Getting Familiar

It’s pretty simple to get familiar with this particular product. It is very straight forward. Inside are 52 cards split evenly between cards for her and cards for him. The black cards are cards for him to scratch off. The cards in gray are cards for her to scratch off. As a couple, you each scratch off a card, which I think is more fun to do without the other knowing whats on it and then you perform whatever task it suggests.

Putting it to work

Each week, you as a couple, each pick out a random his and her card. They work much like a scratch off lottery ticket. Just use something to scratch the surface to reveal the secret underneath. Coins usually work best for this. We have not gone through the pile of cards yet so I will give you just one sample from each set of cards.

He scratches to complete for her: “‘Sticky But Sexy’- Take different sticky note pads and write sexy messages to your lover. Tell her how sexy she is and what sexy things you love about her. Let her know that you want her. Then secretly stick them all over the inside of her car during the night.”

This would obviously work in reverse too. Obviously, the cards leave much for interpretation. I would go and stick these around the house in places I know Sylvanus would go looking in. Such as tucked inside his wallet, inside the medicine cabinet, or on the fridge door. Sylvanus has actually done this for me before (prior to us getting these cards) I have to say, it certainly made me smile and feel loved. He also added a few funny things, so there were some funny points in my day when I kept discovering new notes.

She scratches to complete for him: ” ‘Good Vibrations’ – If you have never used a personal massager on or with your lover before, this is a great time to introduce one. Start by using the massager on his shoulders and down his back. Slowly trace the curves of his body until you have hit just the right spot.”

Ok I know many of you are laughing at this as much as I am… um … yeah.. we have already been there and done that millions of times, but you know.. there are many couples out there that have not. Conclusions

52 weeks of naughty nights is a sweet idea and great for couples who have been with each other for years and need a little spark or even for couples still getting to know one another. Even once you’ve scratched all the cards, you can still keep em and just shuffle them in your pouch and take a random pick. The product says “naughty” but we all know our standards of naughty so I think you shouldn’t expect things to go too wild and crazy with these cards. However, like I mentioned before… these cards are merely guidelines… do what YOU want with what has been suggested. I’m sure you can make the sweetest of intentions, down right filthy!

My head is still a jumble of thoughts, although conversations with Mina, and reading her post about it, have given me a little peace. Also, the irreplaceable Roxy has been a great source of sanity for me as well.

Those of you who only read the blog, or only follow us on Twitter will never get the full story, and, really, even if you do both there are so many twists and turns it’s hard to piece the whole journey together. There was this unusual first date with B and D, something that actually went amazingly well, except for a chemically-induced turn that led to Mina declining an invitation back to their place because somehow three drink in three hours was too much alcohol. We got  home, and she was in our bathroom, heaving and sobbing in humiliation, wondering how she could have made herself sick on alcohol again. Later, we patched it up with B and D, explaining that it really wasn’t them, at all. We, meaning I, wound up inviting them for dinner the following Saturday. B was on her period, as was Mina. While Mina and I have never let that stop us, they seemed averse to doing anything then. We invited them, and their daughter over, and the five of us hung out, and had a pleasant night together. But B was very clear with me that she wanted to get back together “under more playful circumstances.” So, I set up a date, for Thursday night.

As this was happening, Mina and I were struggling a bit with each other.
