My entries aren’t always going to be about the sex… so deal with it! *grins* What I want to write about are my 2009 resolutions. I think it’s important to share both my accomplishments and failures here. I can have the support of my readers or a swift kick in the ass.
Today was a good day for taking a step in the right direction.
While at work, I was on the phone with a consultant. She and I work together from time to time, but we are not employed by the same company. I have known her for 1/2 a year now. She and I immediately got along and understand each other well. Now that I am faced with my possible unemployment soon, we realize we may never cross paths again. She has admitted that if she were allowed an assistant, she would hire me in a heart beat. I would like that very much, but I digress. During our conversation, I shared the news of my engagement. She told me to keep her updated on the plans. I told her to keep me updated on if she ever needs an assistant. She then tells me that since she may no longer be my consultant soon, she would very much like it if we stayed in touch and hung out from time to time. She likes me as a person and admits to not having very many friends in the area. I of course said yes to the offer. It’s just a very nice step towards building meaningful friendships.
I got on the Wii Fit today! I accomplished 32 minutes. Yay! I followed through on yet another resolution. Of course, the year isn’t over.. but looking fabulous for the wedding is a top priority.
I started putting order to the house. Look, my job is both physically and mentally exhausting. When I get home at the end of the day, all I want to do is relax. So I admit to being a horrible maid. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Sylvanus and I don’t live in filth… but the place could use a better cleaning every once in awhile. My goal is to do something everyday that contributes to putting order in the house. Today, I buckled down and cleaned the shower (while taking a shower) and organized a stack of paperwork bills that have accumulated on our coffee table. (again, please don’t think that I never clean the shower, because I do. It’s just been overdo this time around)
So there you have it. I feel like today was a good day for putting one foot forward and getting things done. I may actually follow through on my resolutions this year.
