resolutions

I rarely give myself resolutions, but this year, I thought it would be a good idea. If anything, it helps to have these things written down as well as having the encouragement from our readers.

1. Get more exercise! I have a gym membership as well as a Wii Fit. It’s time I use them!

2. Lose weight! Well, hopefully #1 will help with this one. I have some weight I could spare to lose. Yes, I know, our HNTs make it look like I don’t need to. It’s very easy to pick out the more “flattering” photos.  I am unhappy with the way I look in the mirror and it’s time I change that. I want a truly sexy body for 09. Why? Well, I’m engaged now and want to look my absolute best for the wedding. (date still needs to be discussed). I have also been approached by the fabulous Diva with the possibility of participating in the 2010 New York City Sex Bloggers Calendar. Of course, that means the title may need to change. *wink* So naturally, I want to look extra sexy for that as well.

3. I can be a very selfish person at times. I don’t mean to be, but sometimes I am. I hope to be a more considerate person and to really show the people I love just how much they mean to me.

4. Put some order into the house. We have a lot of stuff and it’s time that we put them in their place. It just feels like things are scattered or crammed into place.

5. Go through my clothes and donate the things I really don’t wear anymore. My closet is unneccesarily full!

6. Start working on the chaos that is our garage. I have a LOT of stuff in boxes. It’s time I go through all the boxes and really part ways with a lot of my things. I hope to get through everything, donate what I don’t need, and purchase new storage containers to truly put order in our garage.

7. Make more visits to see my mom. She’s the only family I have in this country. I should be spending more time with her.

8. Friendships require work. I need to start putting time into my friendships. Whether they be real life or through this blog, it is time I realize who my true friends are and treat them as such. As it stands… I really don’t have any close girlfriends to put in my wedding party. I think that is sad.

Good luck to you, those all seem pretty attainable. i keep going back and forth on whether to make resolutions this year or not.

    Mina –
Your #8 jumped out at me – I was in the same spot 13 years ago, and just realized… I’m still there. Cultivating my current friendships and making new ones are also on my list of goals.
As for #2 – you’re gorgeous. But until you feel that way, until you like what you see in the mirror, that really doesn’t matter, does it?

Good luck with your list :)

I never make resolutions either because I never end up keeping them. Some of mine would be the same as yours with weight and household organization.

#8 is something I have been changing this past year. I have my life long friends from childhood but in 2008 I realized I had not let myself make any new ones during my marriage. That is something I have changed both IRL and online. I also found that friends I made online have become some of my closest IRL friends such as Tess.

We are going to have to figure out how to have “guest” bloggers in the calendar for 2010.

Congratulations on your engagement and a beautiful future with Sylvanus.

If I were making resolutions, yours would be very close to the things that need to be done in my life as well. I have a few ifl friends that I have been friends w/since childhood and we have stayed close. The friends I have made as an adult always seem to take a lot of work and fade. The friends I have met online are wonderful, to bad we live on opposite coasts, I think being friends wouldn’t be much work for us :)
Hope every thing goes well for you this year, and congratulations again on your engagement!!

    Good Luck!
I know that my personal list looks a lot like yours. #8 is a tough one. I’m still working on that one and its been very hard.
Get on the Wii Fit! I’m starting tomorrow! Have my diet plan worked out and going to Wii every other day.

Anyways, if you need a buddy I’m always around :)
    And congrats on the engagement!

Yes, the key is to make them a little attainable.

yes #8 seems to be a very important one… like I said, it’s going to be sad if I have no one in my wedding party.

I am looking forward to developing close friends this year. It would be nice to turn some online friends into RL friends too.

my childhood friends have all left the area as well as most of the good friends I have made in college. Though you can have great friendships over distance, sometimes you do need that girlfriend who can meet you for a cup of coffee. I think you are right. Our friendship wouldn’t require too much work. Too bad there is that distance.
