Happy New Year

Sylvanus and I have been pretty vacant these days. Sure, the holidays, travel and family have put a damper on our blogging fun. Not to mention, my MacBook has taken a dive. *grrrr

Christmas was good. We spent it out of state with Sylvanus’s family. This year went much better than last. I was spoiled by him and his family. Of course, I spoiled him as well. (At least I’d like to think so).

The sex lately has been rather amazing. It has helped to have Gabriel in our lives as my Long-Distance Sir. He helped me create my “vows of submission” as a Christmas gift to Sylvanus. The conversation slowly turned towards plans in February. You see, the day we first met happened a few days after Valentines Day. Last year, I handled Valentines Day and we ate at the very same restaurant we were dining in. On the flip side, Sylvanus handled the arrangements for our “first meeting” anniversary last year. We of course, ate at the very restaurant we first met.

We began discussing how we wanted to handle the two days this year. Since I am close to losing my job soon, I have no idea what my financial situation was going to be. I tossed the idea around about combining the two days into one. In the end, things weren’t really resolved and Sylvanus excused himself for the little boys room.

I was engrossed in my drink when he returned to the table and stood beside me. He announced that he had a solution for the two dates. I raised my eyebrow and asked him, “Oh, and what is that?”

“How about we make a new day to celebrate?” he answers. “Like today.”

That is when my whole world changed. Sylvanus got down beside me and presented me with an engagement ring. He asked me to be his wife. Of course, I said yes! I couldn’t believe it! Even though I had hoped and dreamed for this day and we have always talked about it happening one day, I just couldn’t believe it. With tears in my eyes and happiness in my voice, I gladly accepted his proposal.

“I didn’t want you starting the new year without a ring on your finger,” he tells me.

So ladies and gentlemen, on December 30th of 2008, Sylvanus and Mina were officially engaged. Happy New Year to all!
