Last night, after my dental ordeals of the day, Amorphous came to my place for the evening. I wasn’t up for cooking, my mouth was still throbbing, so we agreed to go out to a local coffee shop, something simple.

While he drove, he asks, “So how soon can you move in with me?”

The topic of moving in together has come up many times in conversation. It first came up maybe weeks after “officially” being together and realizing we have a VERY good thing going on.

We had always agreed that we would move in together when his lease was up in a few months. His place is too small for both my insane quantities of stuff and furniture, as well as his things. So we knew that we would have to find a new, bigger place to accomodate, our furniture, things and pets.

However, last night, he says…. “We could always get a storage unit for the time being. Put your ‘extra’ things/furniture there and I can also put some of my things there too.”

And my gawd,  it made absolute sense. Amorphous has said that he would continue to pay the rent on his own, so I would be financially capable of paying for this unit.

Immediately we started discussing the move and how it would go down and what not. In all honesty, moving in with Amorphous would help me tremendously financially. I get paid extremely well for what I do, but I’ve also managed to put myself in quite a bit of debt. So there isn’t a lot of extra money for me laying around. So when things come up, I struggle a bit to make ends meet.

But of course, this isn’t the reason I WANT to move in with Amorphous …

Amorphous and I met almost a year ago as mutual bloggers. We each had our own seperate lives, miles apart. But the beginning of this year proved to be full of many changes. First he leaves his situation and then moves out to my area. After a couple of months, I too, leave my situation.

Amorphous and I have been “official” for about 3 months now. I know things must seem fast, but I always keep in mind that this has been something growing and building for a year now. It is not an absurd idea.

So last night, as we wait for our dinner to arrive and we are looking into each other’s eyes, he wears that wonderful “shit-eating” grin on his face. (see gracie, I told you I give him that grin.) And he confesses that this is so new to him. That in the first time in his life he is ACTUALLY excited about something like this. He confessed to being so happy and dare I say it? (he may kill me for this) He had butterflies in his stomach.

I took a second and reflected on my own feelings. I too discovered that this would be different for me. In the past, it seems I moved in with my men with the hopes that it would make things better. My relationships were always, “Things are a bit rocky right now, but they will get better once we live together.” Boy, was I wrong on several occasions with that one.

But with Amorphous, it’s different. We are happy, very happy with the way things are now. Sure our hour + commute sucks sometimes to see each other (every night, I might add) We are practically living together as it is. So why not eleminate that commute?

Anyways, I am happy to announce that Amorphous and I will be moving in together a lot sooner that we had thought. And we couldn’t be more excited or happier about it. We hope you can share in this too.
